Perfect Everyday Makeup: 6 Things You Need

Every woman is beautiful, but no one is perfect. You do not need have a smokey eye, false lashes, and extremely contoured cheeks on a daily basis, but you should be wearing makeup every single day. Women who believe otherwise are very misinformed. A blank palette, while beautiful, will always look just a little plain.

Not wearing makeup also gives off one of two vibes. Either you are so conceited that you think you do not need a stitch of makeup or you are so lazy that you do not care enough to pull yourself together. Neither sends a good message.

There is no reason to look overdone though. What is worse than someone wearing no makeup at all is someone with so much makeup on they look like they are part of a Real Housewives franchise. You need to know where the line is.

There are six things that you need to look your best every day:

Foundation

This is your base. Without it, the next steps are a moot point. Foundation helps you achieve a flawless look and keeps your makeup on throughout the day. My foundation of choice is MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. I personally prefer using powder foundation over liquid foundation because I notice that liquid tends to make me break out. This MAC foundation has such great coverage that I do not even miss the liquid. It also lasts forever. I bought mine last summer, used it nearly every day since, and I am just needing to replace it.

When it comes to foundation you need to use whatever works for you. I think liquid is still good alternative for an everyday makeup look, just not something that work for me.

Concealer

Concealer is an absolute necessity. It helps cover those dark circles, blemishes, etc. that foundation can miss. I use Revlon Photoready Concealer. It glides on easily and blends well. Use a shade lighter than your complexion. You will notice your face looks clearer in the end. Just remember to blend!

Blush /Bronzer

After applying foundation and concealer apply blush and/or bronzer. I personally use both, but you can use one or the other if you feel like both is too much. I apply bronzer to my cheek bones and the bridge of my nose to highlight. After, I apply MAC Powder Blush in a swift circular motion to my cheeks. This process contours without looking overdone. I do not have a strong preference when it comes to bronzer, but I only use MAC blush.

Eyeliner

Eyeliner is a definite must. It makes your eyes look brighter and wider and defines your eye shape. Without out it your eyes can get lost, which is a shame because eyes tend to be the best feature on many women’s faces. I use Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner, as you know, on my top and bottoms lids. You do not have to use it on both though. Feel free to do one or the other at your discretion.

Mascara

Eyeliner is nothing without mascara. You need mascara to really make your eyes pop. I use both Maybelline Cat Eyes and Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies  to give my eyes a real glam look.

Lip Gloss

Lip gloss is like the top coat of nail polish. You can go without it, but you will not have a finished product look. It does not need to be a gloss with a ton of color. A sheer pink or nude will do the trick.

Every woman is beautiful in her own way, but we all need a few enhancers. All pictures are links back to the actual products. I personally use all products suggested. It is all under $30!

  1. You are so right, I see girls that wear Morticia Adams makeup at school, damn it. I usually focus on making my face look fresh and bright, because I don’t have a lot of time in the morning and at the moment I’m trying to show off as much of my actual face as I can(if that even makes sense). 😀
