A Fashionista’s Open Letter to Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature,

As I walked to my bus stop today, I said to myself “It’s not so bad this morning”. I said this as I climbed over the one foot mounds of snow that have accumulated in my neighborhood this winter. My amazing neighbors did not think it was pertinent to shovel all areas of their sidewalks. So, these mounds have officially turned into blocks of ice. The only upside is that maybe one day I will slip and fall and be able to put a little dent in that spectacular private college education I am paying off. I digress though.

It’s 29 degrees and cloudy at this point. How could the thought “it’s not so bad” have possibly crossed my mind?! Not so bad? Three months ago this would have been terrible. Now, any day that does not have a windchill of -7 degrees feels like a fine summer day to me.

There may be 15 days until spring, but why can’t you throw us a bone? I am not asking for high waisted shorts and open toe sandals weather, but a leather jacket and light scarf would be amazing. I am sick of layering, scarves, gloves, hats, and down jackets.

As a society, we probably do a lot to piss you off. Littering, not recycling, and air pollution just to a name a few. I do not think that we did anything new that we have not already been doing this year though.

So why did you you come at us with such a vengeance? Are you just fed up? Is there anything we can do to cheer you up?

I don’t know if there is any way we can get you ease up on all of us, but if there is, please keep me posted. I desperately need a week straight of 50 degree weather. My spirit is being broken!

This is a fashionista’s plea. Please take a chill pill weather wise. Give us some cute clothes weather so I do not need to look like a puffed up marshmallow anymore. Thanks in advance!
