With each passing year, music festivals have gained more popularity among music loving millenials. No one can deny that a weekend of great music, fantastic fashion, and—let’s be honest— partying, has Generation Y’s name all over it. With exciting festivals such as SXSW past and Governor’s Ball and Coachella approaching, festival fashion is on everyone’s mind.

Flower Power
A festival style essential is and will always be flowers. Many of the outdoor festivals that we go to today were inspired by the infamous Woodstock music festival that took place in 1969. Serving as the the dawn of the “hippie” and the “flower power” generation, Woodstock gave us trends that are still very prevalent.

Whether they are denim, crochet or leather. Shorts are a necessity when it comes to festival fashion. They are comfortable and easy to move in around when your favorite band is playing your all time favorite tune.

The crop top trend will not be losing any momentum this summer—especially not at music festivals. Expect to see a lot of bare midriffs. These itty bitty tops pair perfectly with practically any bottom (shorts, skirts, pants, etc.).

If you are having any trouble thinking of the perfect sunglasses shape for a music festival you should know that round sunglasses should be your go to. Reminiscent of the late 60’s/ early 70’s, these sunnies are ideal for a festival look.
With stores like Forever 21 doing an entire festival fashion collection, it is safe to say that festival style is a huge trend this spring/summer. You do not need to be going to a music festival to express your festival style though. These looks translate to everyday.
