With summer officially here our makeup routine always takes a slight turn! Heat makes it hard to preserve those beauty looks from morning until night. Celebrity makeup artist, Kendra Richards, knows all tricks of trade and was kind enough to share them with me and my readers. Check out her awesome advice and picks for best summer beauty trends below!
Kendra’s Summer Advice:
Start with Heir Atelier Ultimate Make Up Prep to help your skin look its best as it is best to skip foundation and use concealer where needed. It will help concealer go on better. NYX makes a great and affordable waterproof concealer stick that holds up well in humid weather conditions. Use self tanner on your face if you want color. Doing so will prevent you from worrying about your makeup melting off as well.
Try water resistant mascara and eyeliner for added staying power. For eyeshadow use long-wear cream shadows such as Bobbie Brown. A lip and cheek tint are also great for longevity instead of powder or cream blush
A great go to summer beauty product solution for raccoon eyes that I would suggest is Blinc Mascara it forms tubes around the lashes and will not come off unless you use both water and pressure, then it comes off easily. It is a great solution if you find that you will be out in the summer heat, but want to wear mascara.
If you absolutely need or want to wear makeup you should use Kryolan Dermacolor Waterproof Powder over it. I use this for musicians that I work with who need something extra when they are on stage. It is very helpful.
On summer beauty trends…
My favorite makeup trend for summer is a pop of color on the eye or lip. I love seeing glowing skin and a bright fuchsia lipstick or orange. Some people don’t feel comfortable or feel they do not look right with that bold of a lip color so they could interpret the trend by wearing a sweep of color on the eye.. A beautiful cat eye in purple, teal blue or green is a fun change!
