Monday Muse: Elizabeth Taylor

With seven husbands which include a Hilton and the same man twice, an iconic movie career, and a dedication to philanthropic work Elizabeth Taylor was one of the greats. Many have called her one of the greatest actresses of all time. She had a myriad of classic films under her belt and two Academy Awards so it is tough to argue against that statement. Elizabeth Taylor was a Hollywood legend.

“Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together.”

When I was younger, one of my mother’s favorite things to say was “Buck up”. That is the first thing that comes to mind with this quote. It is okay to be upset about certain things, but you cannot let them completely consume you.

“When people say: She’s got everything. I’ve only one answer: I haven’t had tomorrow.”

Always dream about future. Keep hoping for tomorrow. That is life’s greatest gift.

“You just do it. You force yourself to get up. You force yourself to put one foot before the other, and God damn it, you refuse to let it get to you. You fight. You cry. You curse. Then you go about the business of living. That’s how I’ve done it. There’s no other way.”

Every day will not be perfect. There will some days that are so tough that you do not even want to get out of bed in the morning. It is the days like those that you need to fight to hardest to push past it.

“Follow your passion, follow your heart, and the things you need will come.”

Easier said than done, but so essential for true happiness.
