What to Wear to a Summer Wedding/Cocktail Party

June and August are the two biggest wedding months of the summer. Last weekend, I knew of at about four people going weddings. I even went to one myself. In addition to weddings, the summer is a great time to throw a cocktail party. Whether it be for a birthday, anniversary, or charity there’s a good chance you will have a cocktail party to attend during the summer/early fall. If you have an event coming up and are stumped as to what to wear, I’ve got you covered!

The fit and flare is so perfect for a cocktail occasion! The shape will always look appropriate. With the right hair and makeup you can achieve an old Hollywood look that is sure to turn heads! Pair it with a slim heel to really get the retro effect.

If you are the type of girl who likes to show off her curves then a form fitting dress is the way to go. I only have one rule in regards form fitting dresses. Don’t go to sexy! You are already going tight, that forfeits a lot of cleavage, super short, and/or something backless. My suggestion is a high neck or something strapless. You will look sophisticated without showings too much.

Try a coordinate set for an out of the box look. Showing that sliver of skin won’t cause a coronary, but will be the key to you having a stand out look that quite different from the rest of the guests.

What do YOU wear to a summer wedding/cocktail party?
