Sometimes it’s hard to believe that there was a time I didn’t use highlighters. It really feels like a dark and dull time. Luckily I’ve come into the light and found my glow.
I have a slight highlighter obsession. The reality is that you only need one, maybe two. I have a whole collection (that is ever-growing). The one benefit of my highlight obsession is that I can bestow upon you my wealth of highlighter knowledge.
Here are my favorites:
Mac Cosmetics
If you’re a girl who likes a little glow, but doesn’t like for it to be blinding this is the perfect highlight for you. It’s buildable so you can keep your highlight as subtle or dramatic as you’d like. I have a deeper skin tone so be sure to go with the color that best suits you.
Becca Cosmetics
Champagne Pop was the color bloggers, bloggers, and makeup lovers went crazy for. It was worth the hype! It looks great on every complexion. The finish is very dramatic so this highlight is not for the tame of heart.
Maybelline
The best thing about a stick is that it is easy to blend and build. You don’t need any tools to apply it so it great for on-the-go makeup touch ups. It also doesn’t hurt that this drugstore find is super affordable.
Anastasia Beverly Hills
Obsessed doesn’t even begin to describe it. I got this as a Christmas present and kind of abandoned all of my other highlighters. The best thing about this palette is that you get more bang for your buck. Rather than relying on one shade, you have six very unique shades. My favorite thing to do with this palette is mix two (sometimes three…or four) shades together.
