How to Wear Slouchy Boots

Slouchy boots were HOT in the early 2010s and began to downtrend when the more form fitting options became available. They didn’t quite go out of style, but if you were anything like me you began to opt for tight boots to change things up a bit. In 2019, everything is in. Don’t ditch your fitted boots, but do invest in a pair of slouchy boots if you have not already.

If you have a pair or are interested in getting one, here are a few updated ways to wear slouch boots.

Lean in on midi length

Offering a few examples simply because midi length is one of the most flattering ways to wear slouchy boots and for some the biggest fashion challenge. Something about the length balances out the shape of the slouchy boot.

Pair with culottes

This may not be the most obvious pairing depending on your personal style. The combo is instantly (and effortlessly) chic though. For the ultimate winter look, wear it with your favorite sweater half tucked.

Wear it with a blazer

It’s the perfect juxtaposition. The structure of a blazer and the slouchiness of the boot. If you’re looking for a way to elevate a blazer without overdoing it, this is the way.

Pro Tip: Keep clean lines until you hit the boot by wearing skinny jeans or leggings.

Upgrade your favorite jeans

A never fail formula always includes a pair of jeans. To really kick things up a notch, try wearing a boyfriend or mom fit that has a looser calf. It will blend very nicely with the slouch of the boot.

Throw on a sweater dress

The easiest way to wear a pair of slouchy boots is with a sweater dress or oversized sweater. It’s the perfect way to take your care-free Saturday look to the next level.
