How to Make Your Short Sleeve Dresses Work During Winter

ShirtUnderDress_Header

When the winter really sets in, you are less likely to want to pull out a short sleeved dress. You feel like you have to wear a cardigan or a blazer with it which can look frumpy when not paired correctly. There is actually a very easy fix that probably will not require you buying anything. You probably already own it in your closet!

Pairing a long sleeve top with a short sleeve or sleeveless dress can breathe new life into the garment. It gives the dress a fresh look while keeping you warm at the same time. There is a good chance that you have a long sleeve top or two lying around. Try pairing it with a short sleeve dress you usually would have reserved for warmer days.

A turtleneck is a classic that looks great when it is worn under a dress. Throw on a statement necklace, over the knee boots, and  a bright bag for a pop of color to complete the look.

A print top really gives this dress a whole new look. It will brighten up the grey and make the silhouette really stand out.  Accessorize with a pair of oxblood t-strap heels and put on a dark lipstick for some edge.

Sometimes the simplest option looks the best.  A basic long sleeve tee is all you need to winterize your short sleeve dress. There are many shades of grey in this look because neutrals can bolder than anything at times.
